After 3 years, Paul has decided to leave The Peejays in a bid to satisfy his desire to sing live more often, maybe as a guest singer or solo artist. Watch this space for details. Good luck to the other Peejays - may the future give you all that you desire. The songs will always remain...
July 16, 2009
Paul's band The Peejays are still going strong.. visit their web site for audio and more info!
June 14, 2007
Work on The Peejays' recordings has started and is progressing very well so far. Look out for some very interesting news over the coming months.. the words "vinyl" and "single" have been mentioned....
November 13, 2007
A couple of weeks ago, Paul was joined by Cora and Dawn to perform at a leaving party for their colleague Siggi. Great fun was had by all! Among the setlist was a specially altered version of a song that has since been circulating around certain quarters. As it's proving quite popular, here's a direct link to Nothing Ever Happens (The Siggi Mix)

Long time, no update. That's because with the help of Jan, we've got a brand new band together and things are going great. Say hello to The Peejays!! We've written around 18 songs so far and they are sounding really good and fresh.
January 27, 2007
Well hello, happy new year and all that. This is the year when I'll finally get to sing live again, so stay tuned hopefully for some gig news. The end of 2006 and start of 2007 have seen the launch of two great new projects. There's my online band project "Dilltown Case", where I am putting songs together with the talented duo Chad Dillerud and Scott Casey, and then there's my new live project with my good friend and excellent songwriter/guitarist Jan Woelfer. As I write this, we're lining up musicians for our new band, and early songs are sounding fresh and great. 2007 will be a great year.
August 11, 2006
After too long a break, finally added some new songs to the site. See the "New Songs" column below, tracks at the top are the new ones.
April 18, 2006
Currently writing more new songs, teaching myself the drums and jamming once in a while...

Ever get the feeling you've been here before? You're probably a return visitor then.

IT'S FINISHED!!!!!
DREAM FANS DVD

After over a year of hard work, Javi has put the finishing touches to DREAM FANS, the voluntary documentary about and for Southampton Football Club. As you know, I was pretty heavily involved in the soundtrack, but don't let my bias get in the way of the fact THIS DVD IS AMAZING!!!! Click the link above.

Few bits of news.... Paul was lucky enough to sing at a great benefit concert in his local town. The aim was to raise funds for a local school, and the evening was superb for all who attended, despite thundery conditions!!!! For more info, see this page. We are also pleased to announce the completion of another charitable project that Paul was involved with. Check out Bobby's Civil War Songs project here and lend your support to another great cause. And watch this space for news of the Southampton Dream Fans DVD VERY SOON... it is currently being edited and is looking fabulous...

Sun, beer, steaks and great music!!
The Mock Poets just had their first gig on Saturday in Rauenberg-Rotenberg, and the 6-song stripped down acoustic set seemed to go down well.

Hopefully the first of many gigs for The Mock Poets!

OK, i know it's been ages since this site was updated, but a lot has happened and will continue to happen. The big news is that Paul has joined/co-founded a great new band, The Mock Poets, playing original guitar pop-rock songs. Check back soon for more info!

GOOD NEWS!

Very proud to announce that YOUNG & KEEN, a song i co-wrote and sung with my good friend Scott in the USA has just won the monthly song contest over at Audiominds. (a great home recording site if you haven't already been there).

This song was inspired by The Finn Brothers and features the excellent Jman on drums and Clark on bass. Listen HERE.

October 27, 2004
Good news.... just got word of a few more radio airplays to add to the list. Green Dragon Radio (online) has recently featured both Someone Who Cares and Miss Fairytale on their playlist. Huge thanks guys! Listen here: http://www.greendragononline.co.uk
October 06, 2004
Due to getting a number of requests, i have expanded the song list below to include nearly all of the songs i have online. Remember the individual album pages give you additional access to earlier clips which are not listed here. Not all of the songs are in their most recent form as they appear on the CDs. I am working on including the full credits for the songs as we speak. Enjoy.
October 05, 2004
Thanks and sorry.
September 21, 2004
Been a while since my last update, so here goes.[P] Proud to announce i'm working closely with Javi, a huge supporter of Southampton Football Club, regarding the soundtrack to the DVD he is making for the club called "Dream Fans". My contributions as part of the musical production team include a few specially scored soundtrack pieces, as well as one or two brand new songs and one or two older ones, rewritten for this special project. By the fans, for the fans.
August 03, 2004
OK, keepin busy with a couple of "side collabs" if you can call them that, while also ploughing on with Exploration of course. You can find some of the newest collabs in progress down there. Been writing a couple of "different" songs recently, back to the acoustic for a bit. It's great to chop and change. | | | V
July 20, 2004
Time for an update and brief roundup.

Exploration is still ticking along, like a clock with a very loud stopwatch stuffed up its jumper. I'm starting to think about possible things to do with the CD when it's ready. I already have a coupla things in mind, so if anyone else has any ideas they think could be worth pursuing, please get in touch.

Just agreed to a side-project where I'll be writing a song or two for a DVD being produced for and by the fans of Southampton Football Club, the club i support. Looking forward to that immensely.

Our cover band are now reassessing what new songs we'll be doing. Any wishes? Drop me a line!

As a break away from other things, i run off a quick cover version of the fantastic "Better Be Home Soon" by Crowded House. Far from perfect, but click here for a listen. Take care and till soon.

July 05, 2004
Well our cover band just had another successful gig. Not too many people there, but that didn't stop us having a great time.

And now it's back to Exploration. The few that have heard sneak preview so far seem to like the straight-up rock music style of this project, and I have to agree with them :) Now that the gig and Euro 2004 is over, things should hopefully really kick on now. Still haven't signed up to my newsletter? Why you lazy.....!!!!!!! :)

June 10, 2004
Wanna be first to hear the latest news regaring what i'm up to, as well as gain exclusive glimpses of how the latest tunes are sounding? Sign up to the mailing list! The links are everywhere, ya can't miss them.

Do so quickly, for as of the end of June I will be sending news updates regularly.

How's Exploration going I hera you ask? Well sign up, and you'll soon find out! :)

May 24, 2004
Well, work on the Exploration has started in earnest as i'm delighted to anounce that the team working on it has just multiplied.

Joining Kevin the producer, i'm delighted to say Sergio is gonna be lead guitarist for the entire project and John is gonna be on drums too. Not only that, but welcome aboard to the fantastically talented Paul Kimbrell in the engineer's seat. I am totally ecstatic at this team of people. We're gonna give it our best shot, making an album of rock songs that only don't conform to any rules or wishes, but represent music and art in its most honest form.<> And if the first song is anything to go on, this is gonna be out of this world. :)

May 18, 2004
Big news today, as the producer and I have decided to open up Exploration as a public project and to include some others as house musicians, so to speak. So a big "Welcome aboard" to the fantastically talented Sergio and John. We're also after a willing engineer who wants to mix these 12 refreshing rock songs to showcase their talents. Contact us if you're interested!

And our cover band has just had gig number 2, hot on the heels of our first. This time a wedding gig, VERY different. Wanna read the full story and see pics? Contact me and i'll let ya know how!!!! ;)

May 10, 2004
OK, so it's been over a week now since the big gig. That doesn't stop it being a great memory though....

Work on Exploration has gained further momentum and i shall be recording more vocals for it as soon as my health improves. For the time being, a couple of collab projects are also keeping me busy, as is sculpting our garden into something that actually resembles one...

May 04, 2004
OH MY GOD. How cool was that????? :-)
April 28, 2004
4 days and counting. Rehearsal went so well last night. Almost too well in fact. Sorry if it seems i'm making a big deal outta this, but this IS a big deal. ;)

I have made the decision that my new rock album "Exploration" when finished will be released in the name of Paul Townsend and not Neuadd Sibly. Why? Well, coz that's who I am. This is very much the dawn of a new era for me and my music. When the time comes, I shall launch a dedicated sub section of this site for Exploration, complete with pics, bio, lyrics and son on. Dont forget, as a taster of what's to come you can listen to the unmastered version of Life Of Spies (the first track from the upcoming album) HERE. See, we told you it was different ;)

April 20, 2004
So, less than two weeks until my first gig EVER with the cover band. Hardly been this excited since i began doin this thing called "music".

Just gotten over a brief head cold that threatened to stay for a while, but luckily i managed to kick it where it hurts and now it's crept away with its sniffly tail between its legs. Ha.

Other news.... Exploration is continuing to come along GREAT. Stay tuned for a new clip soon.

April 07, 2004
Closing in on my very first gig with the cover band, we're gonna rock that bird-watching club till they can no longer shake they tail feathers any more!!!!!!!

Exploration is rocketing along, and the track line up is looking and sounding great. All the songs have been written, and Kevin Towell is now working his magic. We're hoping for an early summer release.

Thats all for now. Over and out.

March 26, 2004
OK, i'm fit and healthy again and SERIOUSLY loving singing these days. Every song, every word. Feels magical. Our cover band had to perform in front of these coupla guys in our rehearsal room for them to see if we're good enough for a gig in October... and we rocked. Seriously. We were great. And to think.... we were so crap last week.

If this is what its like, then i love it already. Exploration.... well, it's gathering momentum so prepare for something BIG.

March 11, 2004
So where the hell have i been, you're asking yourself. You're not? Oh well. Been busy the past couple of weeks. After my tonsilitis cleared up, my sister came to visit and then i had a bit of employee train...now i've caught a heavy cold, so basically i've been ill for the past 5 weeks. Not good. I look forward to the summer ;) All the while i am working away diligently on Exploration. Good old rock songs, unlike anything else you are yet to hear come from me before. It feels great.
March 02, 2004
It's bloody freezing here. And snowing. Again. Brrrrrrr. Still not in the land of the fit and healthy, and that's really starting to piss me off. Is there such thing as a full body transplant?
February 24, 2004
Tonsilitis. For all those waiting for my input, comments, or just wondering where I've disappeared to, I fell rather ill last Thursday and just found out I have come down with tonsilitis. I'll be out of action for a wee while. Take care.
February 19, 2004
Oh je, seems i'm coming down with a throat infection yet AGAIN. I really must give up this singing lark...
February 16, 2004
We're delighted to announce the redesign of the website is now complete! Not only have we improved the overall look of the site, but we have simplified it, overhauled the menu options at the top, and added a links section. We hope you like it!
February 08, 2004
I gotta big hole! In my wall, that is. Thanks to my ex-landlord, my studio is now real proper! Pics to follow soon...
February 06, 2004
Most of my time (when I'm not ill or singing with the band) is currently taken up by my latest project with great producer Katow, which I'm calling Exploration. Curiously (and about time too), I've rediscovered my overwhelming passion for art too. Maybe it's just the kaput vocal chords that have caused this, I dunno, but it feels great.
February 03, 2004
I am just a little tester, in this testing world. I test by night, I test by day, this testing lark's absurd!
Jan 19, 2004
OK, lot of news this time, so where do i begin? First of all, I have just finished mixing and mastering the song I was asked by Wales Together to write and record as the unofficial 6 Nations anthem for the Welsh rugby team. With some great help from Mark Connors and Kenneth A among others, it's finished. So why not LISTEN TO A CLIP OF "GLORY DAYS (THE SHEEP'S CHORUS)". I also took the chance to remaster Takin Over The World, the song I wrote for the Welsh team last summer. Listen to it here.

Other important news, the cover band I sing is have just launched our website and hope to be gigging soon. Check out Bakerman's Friends for a glimpse of what we're about.

Jan 7, 2004
The other major project I've been working on is with Katow.. he has put his producer's hat on and we have been working on our first project together. To hear our first collaborative efforts, listen to Life Of Spies. It is almost finished. Soon we hope to make a few alterations to this site and streamlining it, so keep checking back! Also pop back soon for news of the cover band i sing in... we are soon to "go live"!!!
Jan 7, 2004
Again, apologies for the "break in transmission" but the christmas time was a busy one, what with parental visits, and it being our little girl's first christmas. I have been busy though, and worked on a Christmas song with some good friends (thanks Bill and Bobby!). It's an original comedy composition and although it's a bit late, you can hear it HERE. Happy New Year everyone, it promises to be a great one. Keep coming back as soon I will have news of a song I've been asked to write and record for the upcoming rugby 6 Nations.
Sep 19, 2003
Thanks to the wonderful talent that it Kenneth Aspeslaen, I have just finished reworking a song called Takin' Over The World. I wrote this originally for World Wide Welsh, a Welsh expat Website but with the upcoming Rugby World Cup being held in Australia next month, it seems this song will also be included on a CD of inspirational music to be handed over to each member of the Welsh rugby team. Can you imagine how chuffed that would make me? To follow the Rugby World Cup from a Welsh perspective or to simply learn more about Welsh rugby in general, take a look at this great site. Huge thanks to Kenneth in Norway for the bass, drums and electric guitar work, and thanks also to Paul Sims and Russell. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN
Aug 18, 2003
Well I guess it's been a fair while since the last news update. What with moving home, starting up with a rock band and starting work on my new home studio, I haven't had much time for neuadd sibly songs. The good news however is that I had to leave the band due to time and energy restraints, and as soon as my studio is set up, it's all systems go once again. Yip, i've missed it heaps. As of September we hope to push ahead even further with our music to see where it takes us. Watch this space. Oh, I've written my first song for ages... it'll be the first thing i work on when the studio is in some kind of working shape. To see the progress of the studio, have a look here. Great to be back folks ;)
May 23 (still), 2003
It's been brought to my attention that a lot of you have been trying to listen to songs listed in items further down this news page. You'll be glad to know that most of those links have now been fixed, where possible. There ya go: ask and thee shall receive.
May 23, 2003
The first orders have been coming in for Metaplastic Years which is keeping me very busy. That, and also another project which I'll be announcing here shortly. If you haven't yet ordered your copy of the great album: HAVE YOU NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE MISSING???? :)
May 18, 2003
More great work from the web fairy means the new album page is ready, and so we have announced Metaplastic Years to the world!
May 7, 2003
Great news: the new album is finished and is immediately available for purchase! By far the best Neuadd Sibly has produced so far, Metaplastic Years contains a whopping 12 tracks of varied, heart-felt songs. For further details including track list, clips and the odd full length song, see the main Metaplastic page. Then go buy the CD (and see if you can find the secret dedication to my daughter...)
May 7, regarding February 10, 2003
Right, huge apologies for the lack of action on the news board these last few months. This was largely due to the birth of Elin Townsend - "the new generation of sibly" - on Feb 10. She's adorable. Look out for a song or two about her on the new album....
January 15, 2003
I've just written and recorded a very sad song in a relatively short space of time. It will be the last track on my new album and will set it off perfectly. Depicting a mother's pain and anguish at trying to relive her failures of youth through her young daughter, Silver Sequinned Shoes epitomizes the feel i want this album to have - one of highly personal, often desperate emotions.
January 9, 2003
Great news for fans, as we can confirm work has started on album number 3 and with all the material written and a good deal of it recorded, the release may not be as far into 2003 as we anticipated. The album, yet another personal and emotional journey through Neuadd Sibly's persona, will be entitled "Metaplastic Years". Even better news is that negotiations have meant that Would You and Miss Fairytale will both be featuring on this album, as will The Couch. Hope that whets your appetite. Watch out for more news, or subscribe to our newsletter to get the news delivered to you as it unfolds!
January 9, 2003
For listeners who tuned in to hear The Couch from the site, you'll be delighted to know that the reworked, vastly improved final version is now finished and up on the site. If you liked it before, you'll love it now. LISTEN HERE
January 7, 2003
Happy New Year to every one out there! It's gonna be an exciting year both on the music front, and off it. We finished off 2002 in great style, with the marvellous Miss Fairytale getting radio airplay here in Germany. Yes, fame at last. Definitely our best achievement to date, and I'd like to thank all concerned. More of our songs have already been played on the same local radio station this year, meaning we start where we left off, and hopefully continue up and up....
November 26, 2002
Well it's all go go go in the land of Neuadd Sibly these days. For those who don't know, PT (neuadd) and Mrs. Neuadd are expecting the first addition to their family early next year, so I'm looking to cram as much recording in as possible before this place gets noisy. And so another new song can be found on the work in progress page, called The Couch. Someone Who Cares has now also been added to this page, and look out for another new song called Something For Nothing which I'll be posting shortly.
October 24, 2002
To celebrate the launch and kick things off as they mean to go on, we have just uploaded our latest song, currently in progress. So check out Someone Who Cares and don't forget to let us know what you think!
October 23, 2002
We're so proud to announce the official launch of Neuadd Sibly's new site. Join us in our celebrations by raising a glass and getting tipsy, then maybe open a bottle of champagne. Here's to a brand new beginning. HUGE thanks go to Laurey for her work, patience and skills. A massive welcome to all new visitors. Go on, sign the guestbook....you know you want to.
October 2, 2002
Great steps have made to increase the quality and presentation of this site, with more-than-a-little help from a certain Laurey McAdams. The new-look site, complete with its own domain name (at last!), should hopefully be going live within the next week or so. Musically, several projects are on the go at the moment. They shall appear here soon!
July 15, 2002
Well haven't I been a bad boy neglecting this site? Still, it's not as if anyone actually reads this news section (you will when I'm famous, I know). Anyway, the collabing is still going stronger than ever, and I've posted a few new tunes to the site - see the collaboration page.
Mar 20, 2002
Been doing a lot of collaborating over the past weeks, the results of which will appear here shortly. For starters, on the front page you can now listen to 3 new songs, words written by Todd Tisdale and music composed by me.
Mar 8, 2002
The site is now uptodate and complete. I have finished the setup page, and even added a few pictures of myself on the band page. And all broken song links are now fixed...please let me know if you find any other broken links
Mar 5, 2002
Well St Davids Day has now passed, meaning we are into March. Its coming up to a year since i started this whole recording business, and what a year it's been. If the next year is anywhere near as productive, then god help you all. To "celebrate", I have now fully updated the site, as i'd been rather slack as of late...Huge thanks to all who have supported me and shown interest over the past year!
Feb 22, 2002
New CD out today! A couple new songs have been added, and now I'm proud to announce The Bright Dull Grey is now available, featuring 9 new songs. For more details, click here
Jan 29, 2002
Apologies for the inactivity over the past few weeks, but I had an operation (Pilonidal Sinus, if you're interested!). However, I have posted two new songs: Help Me Show (listen here) and The Bleater (listen here)
Jan 25, 2002
Congrats and good luck to The Swans, who were bought by ex-player Mel Nurse today. In their honour, i have written and recorded The Knight Nurse Called, a new song celebrating the start of a new era. Listen now
Nov 27, 2001
Wild Boy, Wild Girl, my latest song, is now up on the site. For the first time, i used drum samples from e-drummer, and it gives the song a completely new edge. This is still a working version, however. Listen now
Nov 12, 2001
Secret Waterfall, a song I wrote a while back is now available to download. As ever, pigeon-holing my stuff is the hardest part of all of this, but i would say this is country rock with a little bit of synth thrown in for good measure. It's quite a variation from my usual stuff, but variety IS the spice of life, and all that! Listen now
Nov 2, 2001
Parc Aidem is now finished at last! A finger-picking-filled tune inspired by Mr Writer (The Stereophonics) and the annoying audacity of music journalism. Listen now
Oct 13, 2001
You can now listen to a reworking of my first song, which I have done today to promote my support for Swansea City Football Club. Entitled For Our Beloved Swans, this is a song which is from the heart, believe me, and if you think it's cheesy, then you have obviously never truly supported a football club. Good luck to all at SCFC. Currently Unavailable - contact us if you want to listen
Oct 2, 2001
Driving Into a Headwind, the debut CD by Neuadd Sibly is now available on mail order. CD features 10 original songs by Neuadd Sibly and a 10 page full-colour CD booklet featuring original artwork by Paul Townsend. ORDER YOUR COPY HERE

Major expansion and updates to the site, including comprehensive MUSIC section. Enjoy...I need to sleep now desperately...

Sep 20, 2001
Very early work has begun on Neuadd Sibly's new single, Parc Aidem. Expect to see some demos in the next couple of weeks.
Sep 17, 2001
It is finally here. Why I Cry is a three-and-a-half-minute blend of mellow acoustic guitar and coffee-house piano. Huge thanks go out to Steve Rasmussen on piano. Listen now
Sep 16, 2001
After a few trials, finally got a version of Why I Cry that i am semi-happy with. It features Steve Rasmussen on piano and will be posted here shortly.
Sep 08, 2001
Immediately get to work on new song Why I Cry after quite a long break
Sep 07, 2001

July 17, 2001
My debut CD entitled Driving Into A Headwind is now finished. If anyone wants a copy, then I will soon be posting details of how to obtain one, along with clips of each of the 10 songs featured on it. In the meantime, I ask for your patience
